It’s an old-fashioned vaudeville show! With less offensive material but also so, so many teeth. Get Pecos Bill to squeeze us and we might be able to hit the high note in Danny Boy. With our very special guest star, Taylor Cole!

With Our Very Special Guest Star…Taylor S. Cole!

Taylor Cole has never been asked to provide a bio of this kind before, and is really struggling to determine what to include. Perhaps inadvertently, he has dedicated his life to facilitating human interaction through music and popular culture, most notably as the host of the late podcast The Great American Pop Culture Quiz Show, and as a choral music educator.

After years of studying music as a real dilettante within the field, he fell into teaching high school choir, caught the teaching bug, and has never looked back. These days, Taylor still works in public education, directing middle school chorus and music theater. His school’s choir recently performed at Walt Disney World, and their set included an arrangement of “Turn the World Around” as a nod to Harry Belafonte’s performance of it on The Muppet Show. He routinely turns his basement into a piano bar, and believes that group singing, regardless of the participants’ self-perception of singing ability, is among the healthiest actions a person can take.

Taylor also has a knack for slash obsession with pop culture trivia. During staff meetings at school, he regularly writes down the names of the last twenty-five years worth of Oscar Best Picture nominees from memory in an attempt to look like he's taking notes. After many years of listening to the Extra Hot Great podcast, he was a test contestant for their budding spinoff The Great American Pop Culture Quiz Show with Dan Cassino and David T. Cole (no relation). After winning too many of those test episodes, he was asked to be the host, and spent four great years asking strangers and friends pop culture trivia questions, often cloaked in bizarre conceits and/or very sweaty puns.

Taylor continues to show up on podcasts hosted by Quiz Show alumni as often as he can to talk about god-knows-what. So you may occasionally still catch him on Extra Hot Great, This Had Oscar Buzz, A Tripp Through Comedy, and of course, Muppeturgy.

Taylor’s own podcast which he left out of his bio but plugged at the end of the show.
