The Muppets Go Hollywood

From the glamorous Cocoanut Grove (where definitely no one was assassinated) in beautiful Hollywood (which definitely wasn’t a nightmare in 1979). it’s The Muppets Go Hollywood (which definitely won’t make you go “wow, TV in the 70s was...wow”). We watched this special promoting The Muppet Movie/grasping for ratings/beta testing Jim Henson’s idea for a live Muppet show so you don’t have to! There are definitely some high points: Rita Moreno, Dick Van Dyke, Christopher Reeve, Johnny Mathis, Liberace playing air piano, disco, Frank Oz being great at his job, Paul Williams making us cry…And some low ones: Robert Stack, a very confused Peter Falk, Animal being a creep, Johnny Mathis again depending on who you are, terrible ADR... Join us for a journey back to a time before (most people had) cable but everyone loved Dick.
